Playtech pulls out of Finland and Netherlands

Playtech has decided to move out from the Finnish and Dutch online gaming markets by the end of the current year. There were also rumours that Playtech was going to pull out from the Canadian market, but finally these rumours were put to rest as false since under Canadian law, game developers can offer and promote their games to Canadian players as long as they hold a license and are regulated by official gaming commissions, regardless of their location.

Playtech did however confirm that it will be pulling the plug on its Finnish and Dutch operations by the end of 2013, but it also said the decision was made by their affiliate Euro Partners. Euro Partners is the official affiliate representative to many online casino brands which are powered by Playtech software and licensed within most EU countries.

There is no official reason given for the pull out but its believed it has to do with recent regulation changes in both these countries. It could also be a voluntary decision by the company to comply with its own business model. Playtech considers the European market to be saturated and wants to slowly move resources out of it and start moving them towards the Asian market.
