North Dakota Casino Plan

Share

The plan to establish up to sixstate-owned casinos in North Dakota will be reconsidered by the legislature.

The initiative comes from the state’s Republican House majority leader who has requested that the House Judiciary Committee reconsider the proposal. Despite the fact that the idea is not popular among members of the Democratic party, Fargo Rep. Al Carlson is pushing his agenda ahead. The committee is to hold a session later this week.

The North Dakota Senate is also preparing to vote on a bill to lift the ban on carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. If approved, the bill will allow citizens of age to bypass background checks and classes which are currently mandatory. The proposal has already been given the go-ahead in the North Dakota House.
