North County Pala Casino Resort & Spa Plans $170 Million Expansion

Pala Casino Resort & Spa has confirmed a $170 million expansion plan which includes an additional hotel tower, more gaming and bar space, and a bigger parking garage. A newer look for the casino interiors, including changes in the current hotel tower and conversion of the pool area into a multi-pool entertainment complex.

The expansion is set to begin in October at the North County attraction. The hotel tower will now have 349 new rooms with hotel suites that would overlook the complex’s entertainment areas. The hotel construction which is expected to finish by May 2019 will have 854 rooms and suites in total, according to Pala Officials.

The expansion of the casino would increase the current 90,000 square feet to over 102,000 square feet of gaming space, which would increase the slot and video machines offered to 2,500 and the offerings of table games to 88.

The expansion project would create about 400 construction jobs and about 200 new more positions would be added to the already existing team of 2,000 employees.

Robert Smith, chairman of the Pala Band of Mission Indians, said, “This is a significant milestone for our tribe and we look forward to continuing to exceed the expectations of our loyal patrons”.
