New York-based Turning Stone Resort Casino has just introduced a free-to-play casino platform. It is available on play.turningstone.com, and features a range of games that can be played with virtual money.

According to an official press release by the casino’s operator, Oneida Indian Nation of New York, “Gamers can play Turning Stone Online Casino for free and win virtual chips, and also purchase additional chips and earn TS Rewards points, which can be redeemed for on-site purchases at Turning Stone.”

The launch of the new platform coincides with the state’s effort to promulgate legislative measures in support of legal real-money online poker.

Las Vegas-style commercial casinos have mushroomed in the Empire State. Three such establishments have opened recently, and another one is scheduled to start operations in 2018.

The state of New York has estimated that its residents gamble about $1 billion per year in casinos located in other states. Out of the nine racinos in New York, Resorts World Casino in Queens and Empire City Casino in Yonkers generate over 70% of the total commercial gaming revenue.
