New Jersey: 51,000 new accounts and counting

Share

Bloomberg reported on Monday that over 14,000 new online gambling and poker accounts were registered over the weekend, spread throughout all six licensed operators. This has brought the total number of online accounts registered since the launch on November 21st, to over 51,000 (and the numbers keep rising).

There is no hard data yet by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement as to how many of these have made real money deposits and have played for real money and there is no information either on how many of these accounts are unique sign-ups, since some players registered accounts in two and up to six different online casino websites. More information will be available in January, when the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement publishes its first report.

So far, out of all the casinos operating in New Jersey, only the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, Tropicana Casino and Resort, Bally’s Atlantic City, and Caesars Atlantic City are operating normally and online. The Golden Nugget Atlantic City is still in test mode and dealing with last minute technical issues but is expected to go live and fully operational by the end of the week.
