The bill that was passed last year in December to finish off with the prohibition on commercial gaming, with a second, more comprehensive, would be introduced in 2017 by the National Diet.

Japan’s legislative body’s focus as of now is to prevent potential gambling problems that might arise from the commercial integrated resorts, keeping in mind the current casino law currently being written.

The National Diet gave out loud and a clear message saying its prime concern is combating problem gambling, with the 717 members of both the House over the integrated resorts (IR) bill.

This issue gets severe with the recent Manila Casino attack that left 37 dead by a frenzied gambling addict. Diet is reportedly focusing separately on gambling addiction safeguards.

The IRs currently are focused for white collar workers and travellers who have the means to gamble. The aim is to block anyone who can’t afford to lose.
