The US-based casino games developer MX Digital have just signed licensing agreements, allowing them to use the world known Blues Brothers brand in their online slots. Dan Akroyd, who was the star of the movie playing the role of Elwood Blues, will be promoting the products upon its release.
MX Digital signed the deal with Blues Brothers Approved Ventures, which is owned and controlled by Akroyd and his co-star Belishi's widow as well as Panacea Entertainment. They describe the Blues Brothers as a global icon as well as the perfect brand to convert more players over to playing online slots.
“Since their 1976 debut on Saturday Night Live, the Blues Brothers have recorded multi-platinum-selling albums, toured to sellout arenas, made two feature films and appeared in video games across half a dozen platforms and technologies,” Ike McFadden, Commercial Director for MX Digital and added; “All signs point to this being a massive success in the online gaming marketplace.”
“What better iconic characters than those rapscallions with hearts of gold, Jake & Elwood Blues, to be emblazoned in the ether on digital slot machines, and what better partners could Judy and Danny ask for than industry leaders MX Digital,” Eric Gardner, CEO for Panacea Entertainment said.
