More Than Century Old ‘Golden Gate Hotel and Casino’, Announces Major Expansion

The Golden Gate Hotel and Casino is standing on the lands of Las Vegas for over a century. Built in 1906, the Golden Gate Hotel and Casino has all the modern amenities, and the with Labor Day weekend they casino has announced its expansion.

The expansion will take up the area once occupied by now non-operational La Bayou Casino, along with land which was an alley near the property. This expansion will result in doubling up the size of the Golden Gate’s casino floor.

Derek Stevens, the owner of the Golden Gate Hotel and Casino, joined the Las Vegas Mayor, Carolyn Goodman and others to inaugurate the official grand opening of the expansion. Along with the doubling of the casino floor size, the expansion includes redesigning of the Hotel’s Freemont Street entrance and extension of the Onebar.

The casino which has been a part of Downtown in Las Vegas for 111 years, is now the newest casino in the area and according to Stevens, they’ve come a long way.
