Maryland state casinos revenues dropped 10% in September year-on-year, having a total revenue combined of $82 million. Maryland Live! Casino generated $45.2 million in table games and slots, which is a decrease in revenues of almost $5 million compared to 12 months ago, despite having a massive 4,220 slots and 189 table games.
The Hollywood Casino in Perryville generated $5.9 million in revenues in total, which is an 11% decrease year-on-year, which is very little taking into consideration that it has 1,158 slot machines and 22 table games in total.
Ocean Downs casino had revenues decrease 3% year-on-year to $5 million in total while the Rocky Gap Casino Resort had a revenue increase of 16% year-on-year to a total of $3.6 million, as the only casino in the Baltimore state area.
The reason for the revenue drop for most casinos is due to a new casino in Baltimore, the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore. The new casino has taken a lot of players from the other casinos in the area and had revenues of $22.4 million in September. The casino has 2,500 slot machines and 145 table games and has only been opened since August 26th this year.
