The Commonwealth Casino Commission has put a hold on the opening of the casino of the business giant IPI (Imperial Pacific International), that was scheduled this Friday, would be decided after further discussions at their next scheduled meeting on May 31, told the Commission Executive Director; Edward Deleon Guerrero.

The CCC cited the reasons as concerns over the safety issues complying to the fire and building safety norms. CCC, also stated that IPI failed to provide enough evidence for the same.

They said they would wait until IPI complies with the safety standards.

The issue is not just about the casino being functional, but the totality of the situation as it would involve the safety of large concentrations of people in one location, traffic movements or parking areas, debris from the hotel construction and draining issue.

However, the IPI responded saying “The safety of guests and employees have always been the highest priority for Imperial Pacific. We fully complied with all the requirements of the Department of Public Works and the fire department and have therefore been granted conditional occupancy permits by both departments.”
