Chula Vista Authorities Say Yes to Seven Mile Casino Ownership Change

Share

The Seven Mile Casino card room has been permitted to change its owner. The Chula Vista City Council has authorized the transfer of ownership rights from VC Cardroom Inc. to La Jolla-based Stones South Bay Corp.

The gambling parlor was previously known as Village Club Card Room.

Stones Group released a statement in which they confirmed the purchase of the Seven Mile Casino. No financial details have been revealed.

Former deputy director of the U.S. Treasury Department Steve Giorgi will act as a compliance advisor for Stones Group.

When the former Village Club opened in 1946, it was located at 429 Broadway in Chula Vista and offered poker, pai gow, blackjack and baccarat. The establishment then moved to its current address in 2014 and carried out a $3.7 million renovation. Back in those days, it was famous as one of the largest non-Indian card room casinos in San Diego County.
