Atlantic City has been a popular casino destinations for many years now, but with Las Vegas and Macau constantly renewing themselves, Atlantic City has fallen behind. They are about to do something about it and they will begin renovating several of the older looking casinos, starting with the Tropicana Casino and Resort.

Tropicana will see a complete face lift of the entire hotel, remodelling of the 434 rooms, add more retail space as well as a large fitness center. Furthermore they will be adding LED screens outside the hotel to be able to attract customers towards their hotel from the distance.

The total costs of these renovations? An estimated $35 million. The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) will be giving $18.8 million towards the project, with the rest of the money having to come out of Tropicana’s very own pockets.

The next projects includes a new apartment building block, with a massive 250 luxury apartments being build. The estimated cost of the project is a massive $60 million and the CRDA has provided the company with a $30 million loan towards the project, which has been created to help attract younger people to Atlantic City which has a rumour of being a old folks city.
