The gambling facilities in Massachusetts got two extra hours to serve alcohol until 4 a.m. Gov. Charlie Baker signed in a provision in the law that changes the rule where casinos could sell the alcohol till 2 a.m. The newly added language in the law gives the Massachusetts Gaming Commission the ability to issue liquor licenses with the last call at 4 a.m.

The $39.4 billion state budget provision has limited the sale and distribution of alcohol on the casino floor for patrons who are involved in gambling and is restricted for sale between 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. The bars in the Massachusetts are still limited to the last call of 2 a.m. The state law still bans the happy hours or special drinks.

As per the law, up to three resort casinos and slots parlour are allowed in Massachusetts. Plainridge Park in Plainville though has billed itself as a casino, is the only slots parlour in the state. MGM is constructing a casino in downtown Springfield that is set to open next year and another casino Wynn Resorts; building in Everett will open in 2019.
