The quarter-finals at the World Cup in Brazil are over and after four extremely close and thrilling games we are now ready for the semi-finals. There weren't really any surprises in the quarter-finals of the cup, despite Costa Rica's heroic attempt to knock out the Dutch which ended in them losing in a penalty shootout.
So now we have the semi-finals which are basically two games where it's South America against Europe. The two games are without a doubt between the four best teams at this World Cup, but is there any value in placing a bet on these games, as they will be rather close.
So far the market shows that the Brazil vs Germany game is going to be a very close game, as Brazil gives odds 2,80, while Germany are small favourites at odds 2,75. A draw gives odds 3,30, showing that this is a game that can go either way. Brazil has not been that convincing at the world cup and has had problems against smaller teams which they would usually run over. With an injury for Neymar which keeps him out of the rest of the games and a German team that seems to have one of the most solid defences of the cup and the always dangerous Miroslav Klose, there might be value in placing a bet on them.
In the other match, Holland is taking on Argentina where Argentina is seen as the favourites at odds 2,40. Holland to win the match gives 3,30, the same odds as you get by placing a bet on a draw. We are not sure why the odds is so high on Holland, as they, unlike Argentina, has been able to score lots of goals and in general have a steady defence. Argentina on the other hand have struggled to score in every single match, so it might end up being a draw which will go to over time.
You can find the matches online on Bet365 now, good luck.
