Potential New Bookmaker in the Australian Market – CrownBet

Share

It comes as no surprise that the Australian betting market is one of the most popular for operators to get into, despite the market being quite limited by the relative small amount of citizens actually living in the giant country. The Aussies are quite betting happy however and while many of the big European bookies has planted their foot there, several local Australian brands are doing quite well.

Now there might be new competition on the market, as the Sydney Morning Herald has reported that Crown Resorts International has registered a trademark for CrownBet, which could become their brand new betting brand.

Crown Resorts International is a $10 billion company with casinos in Melbourne and Perth who already owns 67% shares of BetEasy, one of the leading Australian betting brands. BetEasy has just won the rights for the Australian Football League as the official betting partner, paying upwards of AUD$10 million every year for the next five years.

While nothing has been officially confirmed by Crown Resorts International, it seems pretty likely that they will be launching the new brand within a distant future. Their involvement in BetEasy has without a doubt taught them some lessons they needed before going out with their own brand and having both brands competing in the tough Australian market can work out quite well for them.
