Pennsylvania Likely to Re-Instate Online Poker

Share

Pennsylvania, in the next few years, could be one of a few US states to be on the short list of possibilities for regulated and legal online poker. It is assumed that the state’s Community, Economic and Recreational Development Committee is, this week, likely to start with the process of planning a hearing to vote on whether a draft online gambling should be passed. If it is passed it could be the fourth US state to reinstate online poker. (This being after Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey.)

This is a significant step, but it will have to be first voted by the Senate then the House and then need to be signed into law by the Governor.  The question, however, is whether the terms of this bill may be of interest to poker operators and what the taxation rate will be; estimated to be between 14% – 54%.
