Asia’s biggest sports betting firm, Asian Betting and Gaming Enterprises, Africa, is being sued for name infringement by a Kenyan company for using the name ‘Dafabet’, despite the same name already registered in Kenya locally by a different firm. The Asian sports betting company has been accused of using the said name to promote the sports betting activity in the country.

According to the court papers filed by the layer Anthony Kiprono “The defendant is involved in sports betting, and gaming activities for gain and the defendant is currently unlawfully, illegally and wrongfully carrying out the same in Kenya under the plaintiff’s name, Dafabet Kenya”.

As per the report, the company claims, the name “Dafabet” is creating confusion among the customers as the company does not engage in betting. The business of the company is indoor sports spaces designing.

According to the lawyer Kiprono, different players have been inquiring about various games to bet on through his client’ Facebook page, putting the company at risk.
