Charges Brought Against Three Men Regarding Illegal Sports Betting Establishment in Laurel

A police forces operation to crack down on an alleged illegal sports betting facility in Laurel, Mississippi, resulted in charges against Ricci R. Page, 42, Kordell Nixon, 35, and Joshua McGill, 28. Another suspect, Calvin A Young, 37, is still being sought after.

The criminals have been arrested and accused of money laundering, illegal possession of firearms, methamphetamine trafficking and racketeering.

The police obtained a warrant and searched the facility located on 1260 Ellisville Boulevard on Sunday. The place is said to be formerly known as Wanda’s Lounge. More than 100 pills of methamphetamine and three handguns were discovered at the site. In addition, $12,000 was confiscated from the facility.

The operation was the culmination of a four-month investigation by Laurel Police Department’s SRT, SOT, Narcotics, Investigation and Patrol, in cooperation with Jones County District Attorney’s.
