666Bet License Suspended – Director Arrested for £21 Million Fraud

Share

666Bet has had their online gaming license suspended by the Alderney Gaming Commission as well as the UK Gambling Commission. The license was suspended a few weeks back, with 666Bet’s website going into “maintenance” shortly after, saying that the website is down for a few hours only while they improve it.

The site has not been put online ever since, with more and more players getting desperate with the fact that they cannot access their funds and accounts. 666Bet’s twitter account has seen more and more angry customers writing to them and asking into the fraud case that is currently ongoing against the 666Bet director Paul Bell.

The fraud case is a serious case against Paul Bell, as The Independent newspaper revealed this weekend, claiming that he had been arrested in Heathrow Airport last week because of a £21 million fraud made in the company.

Another six persons were held back by the police while the investigation is ongoing, with 13 properties also being raided by the police, including Bell’s house. A total of £1,000,000 in cash were confiscated during the raids in “Operation Bannock”.

Bell has an estimated net-worth of around £400 million, having successfully invested in several FTSE companies and claims that he has not done anything wrong in this case. More information in the case will be released soon, while the regulators decide whether or not to revoke the license or reinstate it.

666Bet has taken it to twitter to say that the ongoing case has nothing to do with their day-to-day operations and that they hope that they will have their license and website back shortly, though not knowing when this will happen.

Let’s hope that no matter what happens in the case, that the players will receive their funds back so we avoid yet another bigger site running away with player funds. 666Bet was a big brand in the UK, sponsoring Leicester City and West Bromwich in the Premier League and having Harry Redknapp as an advertising frontman.
