Winford Hotel & Casino To Be the New Asian Poker Tour Venue After Resorts World Manila’s Casino Licence Revoked

The 2017 Asian Poker Tour which was scheduled to take place at the Resorts World Manila has been relocated to next location as the gaming licence of the casino has been suspended.

Winford Hotel & Casino, a luxury resort nine miles across town, which is already the home to the APT Poker Room Manila, will be the new location for the event.

After the June 2 attacks on Resorts World Manila that killed 37 people, the casino floors remained closed ever since and the hotel’s gaming licence was revoked by the Philippines gaming authorities for an indefinite period as the investigations suggested a lack of safety and security lapses at the casino resort.

The buy-in for the main event of the sixth event of the APT has dropped from $3,300 to $2,200 and the 2017 season is scheduled to run from July 19-27.
