TonyBet Poker Obtains Danish Gaming License

TonyBet Poker was the first site in the world to really focus on the increasingly popular Open Face Chinese poker game. While the game still has a long way to go before it will be even remotely close to the popularity of Hold’em and Omaha, it is still one of the most played poker variants around the world at the moment.

Now the poker players from Denmark will also be able to enjoy the Open Face Chinese games from TonyBet Poker, as the company announced that they have obtained a Danish gaming license, allowing them to legally operate in the small Scandinavian country.

“It wasn’t an easy process, but we’re proud to finally be able to announce the good news – online Open Face Chinese poker is now available in Denmark,” The Danish TonyBet representative Sune Hansen said. “We’re also already looking for venues to host the first big live OFC poker event.”

Open Face Chinese is quite popular amongst the regulars in Denmark, but the mainstream reach is not that high yet, partially due to the limited games that has been available and partially because many players still prefer the traditional variants.

None-the-less the move from TonyBet Poker makes good sense business wise, as Denmark is one of the richest countries in the world and has a solid player-base. The traffic will increase on the site and the value should also increase for the regulars playing in TonyBet Poker already.

“Launching our online OFC poker site in Denmark is only the beginning,” Hansen said. “We have big plans for the future, involving special tournaments, promotions, and even live events in Denmark. We’ve been receiving a lot of requests from our players on when is Open Face Chinese going to be available in Denmark, and now it’s finally here. This is a big day for us as well as the Danish poker community.”
