The GPI Partners Up With Chinese Tencent Poker

The Global Poker Index (GPI) has announced a new partnership with China’s largest online poker room, Tencent Poker. Players taking part in the Tencent Poker Tour will from now on get their points recognized by the GPI.

In the hope of China being the next country and huge market to have a poker boom, Alex Dreyfus, founder of the Global Poker Index and Global Poker League (GPL), prepared himself by agreeing on a partnership with Tencent Poker.

The GPI collects the results of thousand’s of poker tournaments all over the world and rewards players with points for their leaderboard. With the addition of the Tencent Poker Tour, the GPI enters the market of the country with the largest population in the world.

With this cooperation the GPI/GPL found a powerful partner to get promoted all over the Chinese market.

In the near future, the GPI will create rankings specifically designed for the Chinese sector and will also launch a GPI Awards Ceremony in China, rewarding the biggest poker personalities in the 1.35 billion people nation. There are also plans to launch a GPL in China next year.
