‘sss66666’ Wins the First $1,000,000 Spin & Go

Pokerstars released a new sit n go concept last year called Spin & Go, where players pay a buy-in to compete against two other players and the prize pool will then be determined based upon randomness, going all the way up to $1,000,000 for a $5 buy-in as part of Pokerstars December Festival.

Now the first $1,000,000 prize pool Spin & Go has been played and it was a player from Russia called ‘sss66666’ who took down the special sit n go tournament. The $1,000,000 Spin & Go lasted a total of 13 minutes and 26 seconds before the Russian could take the massive $800,000 first prize home, while his opponents, ‘geldduvel’ from Belgium and ‘Nonko999’ from Bulgaria, took home $100,000 each.

The story has similarities to the 2012 WCOOP where the Russian player Marat ‘maratik’ Sharafutdinov turned 40 frequent player points into a $1,000,000 first prize in the WCOOP main event. Not only did he win a million dollars for a few frequent player points, a meme was also created about him due to his comment after winning, stating “I wont million”.

The $1,000,000 Spin & Go’s will continue for the rest of the month at Pokerstars, where you’ll also find several other high value promotions.
