Share

The Vietnamese born US American Qui Nguyen managed to win the biggest annual title in poker, he is the new World Series of Poker Main Event champion and received amongst the unbelievable amount of $8 million the bracelet.

Three players returned yesterday to battle for the title and 3rd place finisher would end up being fan favorite Cliff Josephy. The online legend had a great start when he doubled up in the first hand with against Nguyen’s . Just a few hands later he got into a set versus set situation though when he flopped a set of 2’s against Gordon Vayo’s set of 3’s and almost lost all of his chips again. He managed to double up twice again but after a failed bluff against Nguyen he was crippled again and eventually got knocked out by Gordon Vayo.

Gordon went into heads up play with a lead of 200 million in chips against Nguyen’s 138 million chips. Nevertheless the Las Vegas resident Ngyuen was in control of the heads up and quickly took the chiplead. He got his opponent all in several times with the better hand but in the all in situations luck was on Gordon’s side.

The battle would last until hand 384 when Nguyen was finally able to conquer his opponent when he was in the lead with against Gordon Vayo’s . The flop made it exciting when Vayo flopped a double gutshot on the board, the turn and river brought none of the eight outs though and the newest champion was crowned.
