With the 2017 World Series of Poker (WSOP) taking place between May 30th and July 17th this year, it is expected that the numbers are going to be significantly higher than ever before.
Poker enthusiasts, in their thousands, are going to be arriving in Las Vegas to compete for the much coveted Gold Bracelet. 107 333 participated in 2016.
This is the third year that the WSOP will have an online bracelet event and this year the organizers have tripled the number of bracelets tournaments to be won. These online tournaments will have varying buy-in prices.
WSOP explained:
“At the WSOP feel an obligation to find new ways to grow the game of poker. Online poker had been a great way to introduce players to the game and ultimately have them come participate in the WSOP. Upping our number of online only events, with a low, mid and high buy-in range, we believe accomplishes our obligation in a smart way.”
