Ontario Poker Room and Social Club May Have to Close Doors

A social gaming establishment in Ontario may be in jeopardy, because of a house bill circulating in the Oregon legislature.

Oregon’s House Bill 2190 will amend the state’s social gaming laws should it pass. This will mean that gaming may only be allowed on premises operated and controlled by a charitable, fraternal or religious organization, putting a social gaming house, Ontario Poker Room and Social Club in jeopardy. This public hearing will take place on 10 May.

The owners of the business are obviously opposed to the bill stating that is it not right and various councilors have said that they will do whatever they can to support them. Mayor, Ron Verini, brought the issue to the Ontario City Council and as a result, the council unanimously approved the issue and expressed opposition to the house bill.
