Online Poker Revenue Surge for New Jersey

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement released figures for the January internet gross revenues and they show a large rise in revenues for Caesar's Interactive Entertainment online poker sector in the state. According to the reports, the state's internet poker numbers jumped almost 20% across all verticals with the Caesar's and 888 alliance accounting for almost 42% of the spike.

On the other hand, the partnership between the Borgata Hotels and Casino and PartyPoker also show a rise in revenues although they account only for 6.5% of the total. Interestingly enough, Borgata-PartyPoker brought in over half of the total revenue in online poker for the state but Caesars-888 was the clear winner in the race by rising 7% for a total of 44% of the split pie.

Online gaming revenues in New Jersey in January 2014 amounted to $9.5 million, which is an increase of 28% from the $7.5 reported in December 2013. The Division of Gaming Enforcement report also shows that almost 200,000 accounts were created in the state since the project launched in November 2013.
