Harry Law Wins GUKPT Leeds for £32,500

The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour, also known as GUKPT, has just finished its latest event, which took place in the Grosvenor casino in Leeds. The tournament had a £500 buy-in and a decently sized guaranteed prize pool of £100,000, which attracted not only locals, but players from all across the UK.

A total of 228 players paid the £500 buy-in or had qualified through live and online satellites, adding an additional £14,000 to the prize pool and saving Grosvenor any overlay costs. After a few days of play, a total of nine players were left to start the official final table of the tournament, with a £2,400 cash to the first player out and a £32,500 win for the last man standing.

Harry Law was the man to follow at the final table, as he ran over the rest of the players and left them no chance to win anything. Once Law was heads-up against Michael Howards, it seemed that there were no way back, as Law had 5:1 chiplead over his final competitor.

It didn't take long to finish the tournament either, as the heads-up duel lasted only 10 minutes as the two competitors came all-in on a flop that showed 4 Clubs4 Spades10 Clubs.

Howard showed: 7 Spades7 Clubs

Law showed: 10 Spades8 Clubs

Turn and river was Ace SpadesJack Diamonds and with no help for Howard, Law won the tournament and £32,500, while Howard took home £21,350 for his efforts.
