Graham Cowan Turns Masters Champion at Sydney Championships

Powerful emotion surrounds as Graham Cowan turns Masters Champion of 2017 Sydney Championships. The intensity of feeling is even bigger for the Poker Pro because he has never come close to winning a tournament before. This time, the 2017 Star Sydney Championships Masters Event was held as a part of the annual series.

147 players who are 50-year-old or above have registered for the event. Graham Cowan wins the title as the first win for an over 50 person. “I had never even made a final table, so it was pretty special,” Cowan told the Star Poker Live Reporting Team.

Play went on in this marathon before Cowan was crowned as champion. Cowan had never played an event that lasted 14 hours. Some players have opted not to have a dinner break at around 4 pm. Some other players have instead to opt for a nap time.

He just tried his best in playing the game although it was getting hard to stay focused. The Final Table arrived with last nine players on the cart. Cowan was not far behind with 352,000 chips when Greg Russell was on 376,000, and Terence Sims was with 42,000 chips. Patricia Schulberg was the last lady standing. She managed to outlast Sims before going out in 3rd.
