The Estevan Habitat for Humanity is organizing a poker tournament that aims to raise funds for its activity. 60% of the proceeds will be distributed among the winners while the remainder will be pocketed by the committee.

The event will take place at the Estevan Elks Club on April 1, and will begin at 3:00 PM. The buy-in for entry to the tournament is $100 per person. According to Habitat for Humanity’s PR Roberta DeRosier, between 90 and 100 participants are expected to join in. DeRosier also shares that the committee will be tapping into the successful experience of the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games.

In case the event meets the organizers’ expectations, another one might be held later this year.

The funds raised from the tournament will be used to kick off the committee’s current flagship project: supporting their partner family Stephanie Bramham and her daughter Teal in purchasing the land for a new home.
