Delaware will be launching real money online poker games today. The state has been testing play-money gaming since August but the Lottery Commission hasn't yet confirmed if the free games would continue to be available after today. Delaware is becoming the second state after Nevada to offer fully legal and regulated online gaming. According to statements by Delaware's Lottery Commission director, it has been particularly difficult to prepare for the launch of online poker. The technological side of the setup is being handled by Scientific Games who is Delaware's primary software provider offering geo-location, payment processing and player identification. 888 will also be offering their gaming platform for the project.

According to Delaware's Lottery Commission, users are very eager to play. There is much action already in the free-play sites. Delaware did not release the free play sites as practice run for the real-money sites, but instead as a marketing database source.

Today, users of Delaware's real-money online gaming sites will be able to play poker, video poker and slots games. Not all games will be available for real money gaming because of restrictions by 888 Holdings. Delaware is still considering if they will partner with other states like New Jersey of Nevada for intrastate online gaming.
