Caesar's pays out $767K Mega Beat Progressive Poker Jackpot

Last week, on Wednesday Nvember 27th, the Las Vegas Flamingo poker room (owned and operated by Caesar's Entertainment) paid out a record breaking jackpot of almost $767,000 called the "Mega Beat Progressive Poker Jackpot".

The game was Texas Hold'Em and the main protagonists were a man named "Garry" from California and a woman named "Linda" from Indiana. Garry has A-D and 10-D as hole cards against Linda's J-C and J-H hole cards with a flop of K-D, J-D and 4-H spread on the table. Game play continued and was followed by a Q-D on the turn and a J-S on the river. Garry proudly displayed his Royal Flush while Linda, sure to have won the hand, confusedly showed off her 4 of a kind of Jacks.

Immediately after the showdown, the whole table and indeed the whole floor erupted into applause and cheering which quickly spread throughout Las Vegas, as other participating Caesar's Entertainment poker rooms joined in the celebration.

All players who had been actively participating in any real money games in any of the rooms got a slice of the jackpot. In total, 198 players from participating rooms including Harrah’s Las Vegas, Quad Resort & Casino, Flamingo Las Vegas, Bally’s Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Caesars Palace, and Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino earned a share of $766,951.

Linda, with her losing hand, was entitled to $156,189 and Garry took home little over $79,000. All of the remaining 196 players took home $2711.
