Betfair New Jersey announced today that they have found a new land-based casino partner to work with, in order to be able to continue working in New Jersey's regulated online gaming market. Golden Nugget Atlantic is the new casino which Betfair will be working with, who already runs their own online casino site in the state.
In New Jersey it is law that the online operators needs to collaborate with a land-based casino, which is why Betfair had to move to them after their previous casino partner closed down in September. The Golden Nugget Atlantic City will now operate the two sites under their internet gaming permit and should provide Betfair with some stability, which they need.
"We are very excited to move our operations to Golden Nugget Atlantic City, one of the premier resort destinations in New Jersey. With this relationship, Betfair and Golden Nugget are well positioned to accelerate growth in 2015 and beyond," Don Ryan, Senior Vice President of Gaming for Betfair US said.
"We welcome Betfair to the Golden Nugget. The combination of our complementary brands will allow Golden Nugget Atlantic City to cater to an even larger demographic of NJ online players," said Thomas Winter, Vice President of Online Gaming for Landry's Golden Nugget.
Betfair NJ will start to operate under Golden Nugget Atlantic City's internet gaming permit from November 21st.
