Li Ka-shing Investing in Bitcoin Payment Service Company BitPay

Li Ka-shing may not ring a bell to most ears, but people in the financial world is well aware of who he is, as he is the richest man in Asia, rumored to have a net worth of upwards of $31 billion. Li Ka-shing has invested a significant amount of money into the bitcoin payment service company BitPay, making bitcoin enthusiasts across the world see more positively on the future outlook of the crypto currency.

BitPay has wanted to establish themselves as the world's leading and largest bitcoin payment services company, gaining more ground now with the recent money injection from Li Ka-shing. BitPay which is an atlanta based company, wants to be the bitcoin version of PayPal and hopes to have the crypto currency spread to more areas of the world with their help.

BitPay claims to have handled over $100 million worth of bitcoin transactions in 2013 alone, showing that they are growing massively and is a serious competitor to other large bitcoin payment service companies. They also reported to have more than 15,500 merchant accounts active within their network and want to focus on getting even more merchants across the globe.

The exact amount that Li Ka-shing has invested into BitPay has yet to be released, but Ka-shing follows in the footstep of other prominent businessmen such as Jimmy Furland, Shakil Khan and Ben Davenport who has also invested in BitPay in recent times.
