Las Vegas Strip Opens First Bitcoin ATM

Las Vegas Strip Opens First Bitcoin ATM

Las Vegas is the gambling capital of the world and millions of tourists travel to the city in the desert every year to try their luck and see the special city. Now they can do more than just gamble and watch shows however, as yet another Bitcoin ATM has been installed in the city which provides people with the chance to buy Bitcoins with cash.

The new Bitcoin ATM has been placed inside a gift shop on the Las Vegas Strip and people can purchase Bitcoins instantly, but also withdraw Bitcoins to cash through the machine. The ATM is from Robocoin, which is one of the most secure Bitcoin ATM's on the market and ideal for cities like Las Vegas.

Gamblers will still not have any usage for Bitcoins while being in the city, as no casino accepts the cryptocurrency for gambling, but several stores and restaurants and even clubs has started to accept Bitcoins as a payment method and you can even book your hotel room by paying with them.

“It’s something we see only going to be growing,” said Chris McAlary, the owner of the new ATM. “I want to be on the forefront of keeping the Las Vegas tourist scene ahead of the curve."

The Bitcoin ATM is placed at 3735 Las Vegas Blvd. South, close to the Travelodge just south of Harmon Avenue.
