BitPay, the world’s leading Bitcoin payment processor, announced yesterday that they have added a NationBuilder plug-in to their offerings, making it easy for websites to accept Bitcoin donations. NationBuilder powers sites in arts and culture, health and wellness, charity, nonprofits and education as well as political campaigns and similar projects.

NationBuilder brings together an entire platform with everything needed for these projects, including the website itself, financial tools and a broadcasting system, to make it easy for their clients to get started and focus on what they do.

With the integration of the application from BitPay, it is easy for the sites under NationBuilder to begin accepting Bitcoin donations completely free. BitPay is the first Bitcoin payment processor who has created a customized application to accept Bitcoin donations and allows them to receive donations in their local currency.

“Although NationBuilder serves a diverse client base, accepting bitcoin donations through BitPay can benefit everyone by eliminating transaction fees,” said Elizabeth Ploshay, who heads up the nonprofit outreach for BitPay. “We hope that our new plug-in will serve as a catalyst for similar platforms to give bitcoin payment options to their customers.”

“We are always trying to give our customers as many options as possible. BitPay made adding a bitcoin donation option easy, and our customers are the ones who benefit. This has given them a way to accept donations from passionate supporters regardless of geographic boundaries,” said Adriel Hampton, NationBuilder’s VP of Business Development.
