The issue of legalizing online gambling is once more back before the US Congress but this time there are many more positive outlooks than ever before. This comes after several states took it upon themselves to regulate and legalize online gambling and while others are expected to follow suit.
So far, at least 2 bills are awaiting a decision by the House of Representatives, both to regulate online gambling. A preliminary hearing by a senate Comitee has been set already for next Wednesday. Michael Waxman, spokesman for the Safe and Secure Internet Gambling Initiative, said the outlook for congressional approval are now better than ever, and "we're down to the decision over whether Internet gambling activity is going to be regulated on a state-by-state basis or by the federal government."
