Gigamedia Goes Social with New Social Casino Platform in Asia

Gigamedia, the Taiwan-based online gaming supplier, announced today that they have launched their first social casino platform in the Asian market. The site ( has been launched with a free-to-use open platform and the hopes from Gigamedia is that it will create a new distribution channel for social gaming providers who wants to target the Asiatic market.


The current platform integrated on the site has been made in partnership with Microgaming Casino, who has integrated a wide variety of free-to-play games. In only a few months time however, Gigamedia expects to have their own proprietary platform ready, which will have even more games and be something unique. It is expected the launch date of the new platform will be around December.


Just like with any other social gaming platform, the key is the social element of sharing experiences and big wins with friends. Players will be able to invite their friends, contacts and everyone else to join the game and they can even manage and promote their own club which can give them virtual prizes, which then can be used in third-party businesses.


“We believe a platform of play-for-fun games that have the look and feel of Vegas and Macau casinos will appeal to a large pool of players in China, including many who may want to play on our platform between the trips they make to play for real-money at physical casinos in Macau and Vegas,” Brad Miller, Investor Relations Director of Gigamedia said and added that Mainland China will be added soon .
