New Jersey was the third state to legalize online gambling after Nevada and Delaware, but while Nevada only allows legalized online poker, New Jersey will allow many forms of internet gambling.
It was Nevada who became the first state to launch legal online poker back in April when one of Station Casino's divisions launched UltimatePoker.com New Jersey legalized online gambling in February but hasn't yet launched any form of online gambling site.
That is where the Borgata comes in, if they play their cards right and use the momentum generated by the granting of the first permit. Borgata is just one of 12 Casino complexes in New Jersey, meaning more competitors are sure to follow soon. A spokeswoman for the Division of Gaming Enforcement has confirmed the announcement made by Borgata.
