Southampton counsil has given the casino operator his licence for a new Aspers “Super Casino”. After more than two years of struggling with competition of other casino operators, such as Genting; Grosvenor; Global Gaming Ventures and Kymeira Casino, Aspers came out the strongest.
The Royal Pier-area of the city is redeveloped with a £ 450 million project, and the new casino is part of those plans. The casino will allegedly be more than 36.000 square meters, and is due to open in 2021, creating almost 200 new jobs.
Chairman of the Aspers-group Damian Aspinall is delighted about the news: “We are delighted with the Council's decision to award Aspers the large casino licence for Southampton. We are very proud to have successfully delivered the first two operational large licence casinos to the UK and are excited to now have the opportunity to bring a third high-quality Aspers casino, including bars, dining facilities and live entertainment, to the city of Southampton.”
